Character Design - Influences

SIMPLICITY AND UNIQUENESS

Here are a collection of characters that influence my character designs, along with images of God

I want the main character God to be simple, but have its own unique style, an aspect that runs through all of the other characters that makes them all work well together in the film.

I like the simplicity and uniqueness of characters like The Cramp Twins (above)and Rex the Runt, which although being so simple, they remain really strong recognizable characters and are able to show emotion and connect with the audience.

I really enjoy the Simple design -

bald, enlarged forehead, small beady eyes,

Exaggerated features on the character aid the humour.

As simple as it gets, I want my character to
have a large head on a small, simpler body like
the South Park characters.

Another character recognisable because of the head shape,
Hey Arnold has a an american football shaped head like Stewie Griffin.
Other famous characters recognised by head shape are Homer Simpson and Mickey Mouse


Wild Thornberrys father, I like the beady eyes, facial hair, and exaggerated feature of the nose.

Simple characters from Rex The Runt, simple bodies.

Aardman, characterized by the close eyes and wide mouths.

My character could have a strange headshape like Wallaces.

Simple design, Can be cute (big eyes) and totally evil, all through the eyes.

Inspiration for a simple body shape

The Coneheads, I like the idea God having a

cone shaped head with his grey

hair and beard coming off of it. Exagerration of the

forehead like the cartoons of steve bell displaying Gods

massive brain, or his big head due to his fame.

I think this could work well.
